zipper bags and zakka bags

My zipper pouches are done. I still have a lot to do before the fall shows are here so I’m only going to put a few up for sale,HERE and see how things go. I know your thinking you have plenty time… That’s what I always say and only to find myself a few weeks before a deadline running around like a crazy women. So this time I’m going to try something new and get a lot done ahead of time, well at least try to.
And here are the pictures that belong with this book.

My son loved the printed gold fish one, I guess I had better put that on my work in progress list. It would be perfect for putting his lunch money in.

Tissue boxes are pretty ugly if you ask me, and with a few people in the house with allergies they are tissues in every room almost, so I gotta make one or two or even three of these!

This would be really cute personalized with your kids name.

Thrifting
Wednesdays Mending,

This one was not a recent purchase, but a recent re-find. I was cleaning out the closets the other day and I can upon a box of some old linens I had won at an auction. Some where quite cute, to boot. Why they were boxed up and not out showing off all there glory, I have no clue. I’m wanting to freshen up the kitchen and living room with a little more white and soft happy colors so I have some ideas for those boxed textiles.

A wonderful vintage baby scale and it works. I’m going to use it for weighing boxes that are being shipped. And the plus of it is, that it’s cute enough to just leave out.

Last but not least, I found it for only 50 cents at a flea market. Hand cut out of tissue paper. The details are amazing and the delicate work that is has. It must have taken a lot of time and patience, not to mention a super steady hand.
Sorry for the quality of pictures, my camera seems to be getting sicker and sicker each passing day.

A few new craft books
I usually don’t share my new craft books only because they are already being blogged about but I’ll show you a few from my new order that I receive today.
Oops, took a picture of this Zakka book but none from the inside…..

Has some wonderful patchwork patterns in it,

This would make a Yummy quilt!

Some wonderful embroidery and cute ideas.

I think I may attempt to make a pair of those comfy looking house slippers for myself.

I wonder if I make my camera one of these it will straighten up and behave. The focus has been going in and out. I have to wait for all those red and blue lines to disappear before I can snap a shot????

I like how the puppy dog is giving her a flower.

more works in progress

Pouches are ready for their friend named zipper. I think some of them I may put on Etsy and the rest are for the craft show. I also liked the red and white fabric so well that I made myself a personalized pincushion.
Â
And the the doll house is slowly making progress. Old Carpet is ripped out. I’m not sure if I’m going to put carpet back, paint the floors or maybe the bedrooms carpet and living and kitchen wood???
The kids want to help with decorating a bedroom which I think will be really fun. One wanted to paint the walls purple???? and the other wanted them red??? I think walls will just be white and then put a lot of color in the accessories.

owl, kitty, pea, booties ???

I was tickled to try this pattern. I have ordered a craft book with zakka booties, but it’s not scheduled to arrive until July so this was nice, Thanks Heather.

And my adorable Back tack package from Prudence Rabbit arrived. How creative she was! Seems like they can’t get enough of the water with that cute pea boat they have. I found them out by our pond this morning.

personalized childrens painting

One work in progress completed. A very whimsical personalized painting. I was hoping to have this little gift done a bit sooner but it’s one she won’t outgrow for a while.

Works in Progress
A long awaited gift that needs to be finished, it’s closer to being done since this picture was taken.

My couch slipcover that is almost done, just needs a few finishing touches.

I’m determined to finish this project. It truly is a finish what you have, as I started it about 9 years ago! A wall full of black and white framed pictures of my kids.

And my doll house. I was debating for some time what color to paint it. I’ve decided to keep it blue because I want it updated and given a fresh new look, but at the same time I don’t want to totally change the look that my grandpa (whom I may not have around very much longer) made. So a new coat of blue, Martha Stewart ripple to be exact. The inside will be next and that will be a total redo, carpet, walls and all. And the residence told me that they are very excited. It was long over due.

A quick peek of the before picture of the inside. Another finish what you’ve started project.

zipper pouches
Today is the last day of school.
These are Thank you gifts for the teachers, one in particular who was amazing and that my child just loved, she was made to feel safe and encouraged. She felt free, relaxed, smart and appreciated. Thank you………..Mrs. Best Teacher.

The tissue holders coordinate with the inside lining of the bags. These are also some of the things I’m making for the craft shows.

yard sale money
The yard sale was a success. I made a dent in my over stuffed storage room above the garage,… Craft room here we come. Well, after a little more work. I also made some spending money, which was taken directly to the craft store. I love all these colors, so cheerful and springy. They put a smile on my face.
Notice the wad of thread? Never put a baby and embroidery thread in a cart together. What was I thinking?

My sister sewed herself up a casual shoulder bag. It turned out really cute, only it was smaller than she had wanted, so another one is being planned. She’s also thinking of selling these at some craft fairs we have decided to enter.
