A little rambling on about myself…

Time has been flying by and we have been quite busy. I had a very sucessful yard sale this past weekend. The money from it will go toward putting a new roof on the building that will soon be my art and craft studio.  That should be in the near future. YEAH!!!  I also was visiting my family up north about a week or two ago and left my camera cord up there.  I can’t download any pictures at this time, so I thought I would share some of my orange favorites.  And I was tagged awhile back with 7 random facts about myself, so this would be a good time to share them as well.

orange favorites

1) I never wear pants, even more of a reason why I really need to be sewing up myself some skirts.

2)I love white. I am not afraid of color at all and like it as well, it’s just I love white. I think it has to do with needing a calm atmosphere to feel best in and white seems to do that for me. Green and white gardens are my favorite.

3) I like words like swoon, courtship, fickle, gossamer, bonnie, etc.

2) I enjoy reading about historical ways, riding in carriages and petticoats. Coming out into society and how they dated. Having personal maids fix your hair, etc.

3)I love looking at historical homes. Someday I will live in one. Not a beautiful big fancy one. I love to visit and enjoy those, but to live in one would actually make me feel a little uncomfortable. I want more along the lines of an adorable cottage one. Can you tell I’m sort of a romantic at heart or just a little obsessed?

4) I like to keep a phone conversation short and sweet. My closest in-law loves talking on the phone and at great lenghts too, she calls me almost every day, if not several times a day.

5)I had blonde hair when I was 2 years old and it just kept getting darker. Now it’s pretty much black, dark dark brown on the tips.

6) I’m left eye dominate and right handed. When shooting a gun, if I want to hit the target, I have to use my left hand.

7) I like moss and wish my yard was somewhat shaded in areas so I could grow it, since I can’t I will just enjoy pictures like this one and, this yard and these.

I was also very shocked when I read this. Thank you, Clarice. To have such an amazing women, who could run circles around me, put me on her list was very touching. As silly as it may sound, it was like a friend putting her arms around me and saying you can do it.

I give the award to….

Vicki, who is such an inspiration not only as a women who runs her own little business but a homeschool mom that seems to be able to leap over tall buildings with just a single bound.

Two straight lines, whom to me is the martha Stewart of bloggers. Her crafts and images are simply beautiful and extremely creative. Her visual calmness is a huge inspiration toward what I want to strive for.

Frog and Toad are still friends, is a blog that is completely honest in her writing.  She will say the things only most moms just think.  She has made me laugh more than any other blog out there.

Molly, was one of the first few bloggers I meet and she was also my partner in my very first swap. I still enjoy her blog and always thought if I ever lived near her, she would be someone anyone would feel comfortable being around and would make a great friends.

Soulemama seems to have energy on end. She is always creating and finding lots of time to still have fun with her kids. She can turn something simple into something delightful.

Artsy-crafty-babe, because she is on a roll. Beside finding time to do cart wheels and such with her kids, she works and makes the most darling bags.

Well, I had better go. The kids have taken over and the dog is barking to get in.

The fairy land that we found

The other day we where taking a walk and with the help of a childs imagination and a mothers encouragement we stumble upon this.

A fairy land.

Fairy house among the rocks

The place was amazing and we got to meet a few of the fairies themselves. The little valley hidden among the rocks is called Moon Light Kingdom. During the day this little village is peaceful and quiet. It’s hard to even see the fairies as they are shy but when the moon light is out, that’s when the laughter and fun begins, or so we have been told. We’ve even been invited to see a peak of there fun.  Moon Light kingdom has a King named Malvin Moonlight. He is bigger than most of the fairies and has a beard as silver as the moon itself. He is a jolly one, who loves to laugh. His wife is Queen Lily and such an enchanted lady is she. Her dress is so white, that glistened like the stars and her voice is soft and charming. She walks with such grace that it’s like floating on a cloud. The land also has a princess, Princess Glow is her name. She insists that it’s pronouced “Glue” and will correct you ever time. She is small little thing with locks of gold. Giggles and smiles is all she knows. She has a pet bubble bee that she named Sara. And a witting little thing, she must take after her daddy.

Then there is Ella twinkleberry who was a dark haired beauty. A stubborn streak she had. She voiced her opinion and said what she thought but I guess ever family need one of those. She had a laugh that was contagious and her dimple would show.  Her black eyes would twinkle and a mischievous look would grow.

And Sir Dragonfly was a comical boy. Who teased the girls and loved to fly. He would speed around on his Dragonfly ride. Keeping the kingdom safe from stray dogs and ornery coons. He loved the color red and had a heart of gold. He would do any thing for the children he knew.

Last we meet Lady Love Light, who was the oldest of the fairies. She was a quiet lady, who gardened in herbs. She took care of the sick and hurt. She loved to read, draw and paint.  She could always be found daydreaming about past places and things.

A simple little hand bag

A simple little hand bag

I made this for the trip.  Simple and light.  Easy to throw across your shoulders and would keep my hands free. It worked out perfect for what I needed.

Back from a little vacation.

Waiting

Have you been watching and wondering were I’ve gone? On a little vacation away from  home.

Looking out the window

The time just flew by as we had so much fun. There was four different families on this vacation trip. We all pitched in on renting a cabin. It was nice because there was plenty of bedrooms for all and each bedroom had it’s own bathroom, which was Really nice. It was quite relaxing to get away and laugh with friends but it’s also nice to come home to a familiar place.

Trees

More pictures of the vacation here. I have lot more I would like to show you but due to privacy of others, I will have to leave that to the imagination but it involved kids and roller coasters, horses and shows, racing and picnics by the road.
