A “little” house sprucing up
This last week I’ve been doing a little sprucing up the house. Moving around the living room, changing colors, Dining area received a bit of rearranging as well. But those were not the only spots. The kitchen in the doll house has a new little gem. The pink table. Are you in agreement with me, it’s an Adorable little piece of furniture! The girls painted house has been done for a while but it seemed to fit in the theme of the post. So, I shall share it with you. I must tell you painting that cat house, was so freeing. Yes, it’s suppose to be a cat house, but I’m thinking not for ours, as his big tummy is not going to fit to well. We have already tried…he needs a room addition.
Back to freeing….You should try it, grab something, anything, an old cereal box, mailing box, a piece of wood, rocks. What ever you have handy. Grab some bottles of paint, brushes, the kids are a must and paint. No rules, no ideas, no planning. Just dip and color. It was quite fun, all of us painting and giggling at the same time. I was only allowed to paint a small part. But I couldn’t resist adding the little flowers as well, in my February longing for spring blues. Which by the way, I saw a couple robins already. Us northern people watch for those little red breasted friends like there is no tomorrow. They are the usher to warm weather. Early birds this year, so I’m hoping they know something we don’t. But I’m not putting my sweaters away just yet.

Cookies and Milk anyone?
I was planning on offering you cookies and milk but I spilt the milk.
OH, wait. Look I found a cartoon in the frig.
Cuteness is compliments of my little La Belle girl and La Belle boy. They are having so much fun making their crafts. And learning a little about running a business. Future idea are already running around in their heads and dreams are being started. It gives me great joy to see them like that and hear there imagination in words. Who knows, maybe someday those small conversations will be where it all started. ”It all begin back at my first craft show at a young age.” They are even motivating me to step of the cliff with my dreams and take a chance.

Doll house treasures

O boy, what a package I received. It couldn’t have been more prefect timing too. My daughter was having a little girl stay over, so when the package arrived Saturday morning and I invited them to help me open it. There eyes were lite up from it all. They each took turns opening a little package and sharing what was inside. We started into it before I thought to myself to take a picture, but I did get one before we got to far.

There were so many “look at this” and ooohhhs and aaaahhhhs. Such fun. I want to thank each of you for delightful wonderful treasures. Everyone of you did a fabulous job!! And Amy put together the most scrumpous package. A few of the tags because lost from the original so if any of you do not receive a personal thank you email from me, Please my apology because I didn’t mean to leave anyone out, as I loved it all.  Head on over to here to see the rest of the pictures.

Hugs all around for everyone. Thank you once again.

Books and Boxes
Last night I was finally able to download some pictures from my camera. I think I had about a hundred on there. So where do I begin…..
First, I want to sadly admit defeat or disappointment, Well a little of both. I was really excited about the book reviews by kids. I was hoping I would get some wonderful idea from kids and there parents to be able to share with all of you and enjoy ourselves but no one email any reviews. And with going on vacation, a family camping trip, an out of town trip, getting ready for company, fair and yard sale. Well, even I didn’t add one of my kids reviews. It’s one of those moments where you feel like you failed, know you failed but instead of feeling to down hearted. I’m just going to suck it up with a little bit of pout.
I will let you know two books that my kids have really enjoy this summer. One is Joey Pigza, loses control by Jack Gantos. My ten and eight year old laughted there heads off. They said it was there favorite book. A cousin who recommend it to us, has it on his favorite book list as well. It’s about a boy that has HADD and comes from a broken home. His dad is trying to make up for lost time in the past and it’s through the eyes of Joey. There was a few times, we were laughing so hard tears where running down our cheeks. Once my son was laughing so hard, he literally fell on the floor.
The second book is my daughters favorite. Skippy jon Jones by Judy Schachner. The book is about a cat with a wild imagination. The illustrations are so wonderful that it has my daughter who struggles with reading, wanting to write and illustrate her own books. She has spent several hours in her bed and under the shade tree with pen and paper in hand. Due to past experiences, it was such a wonderful thing to see her inspired to this level. We will be looking for Judy’s other books.
July hasn’t been a very crafty month with the summer weather and family fun, but there has been a little here and there. The Little Club House swap is one.

There has also been my kids pillow business. They made a few pillows for ME to buy. But with a price of $1.50, how could a mother refuse.  Pillow pictures later.
Have a great weekend Everyone.Â

The fairy land that we found
The other day we where taking a walk and with the help of a childs imagination and a mothers encouragement we stumble upon this.
A fairy land.
The place was amazing and we got to meet a few of the fairies themselves. The little valley hidden among the rocks is called Moon Light Kingdom. During the day this little village is peaceful and quiet. It’s hard to even see the fairies as they are shy but when the moon light is out, that’s when the laughter and fun begins, or so we have been told. We’ve even been invited to see a peak of there fun. Moon Light kingdom has a King named Malvin Moonlight. He is bigger than most of the fairies and has a beard as silver as the moon itself. He is a jolly one, who loves to laugh. His wife is Queen Lily and such an enchanted lady is she. Her dress is so white, that glistened like the stars and her voice is soft and charming. She walks with such grace that it’s like floating on a cloud. The land also has a princess, Princess Glow is her name. She insists that it’s pronouced “Glue” and will correct you ever time. She is small little thing with locks of gold. Giggles and smiles is all she knows. She has a pet bubble bee that she named Sara. And a witting little thing, she must take after her daddy.Â
Â
Then there is Ella twinkleberry who was a dark haired beauty. A stubborn streak she had. She voiced her opinion and said what she thought but I guess ever family need one of those. She had a laugh that was contagious and her dimple would show. Her black eyes would twinkle and a mischievous look would grow.
And Sir Dragonfly was a comical boy. Who teased the girls and loved to fly. He would speed around on his Dragonfly ride. Keeping the kingdom safe from stray dogs and ornery coons. He loved the color red and had a heart of gold. He would do any thing for the children he knew.
Â
Last we meet Lady Love Light, who was the oldest of the fairies. She was a quiet lady, who gardened in herbs. She took care of the sick and hurt. She loved to read, draw and paint. She could always be found daydreaming about past places and things.

Showing Work in progress, Done
These are things I have posted about in the past while they were work in progress, just forgot to show the finished work. Bad habit I’m trying to break.
I meant to post more of my finds from this yard sale weekend and here they are many months later.
This was my most exciting find. This huge storage wall. I have no room in my present house for it, but someday I will have a studio and this will be in it. Filled with ribbons and trim, fabrics and papers. The fun stuff.
Â
And this pretty aqua pyrex frig set in excellent condition, for next to nothing.

Then we have the post about this little metal chair…….. And here it is.

I had mentioned a few times about my daugher wanting a horse room and I hated to paint over her walls, so we came up with the idea of just painting a horse on the wall. It has a felt mane and tail that is attached with poster puddy so we can change the look of the horse in just a few snips and cuts from the scissors. The color is a little off because the walls are a pink. I had planned on putting a fence on the bottom. We have some left over fence slats that match her painted fence perfect, how ever I forgot they are treated lumber and have a chemical in them and I don’t want that in the house let alone my girls room, so I need to paint the fence. Sadly this horse has been with out legs for several long months. Lucky for me, he can’t voice it’s opinion or I’d get a ear full. And my daughter is just so glad to have a horse in her room, that she hasn’t said much. This is something I really need to finish.

Ok, I’m feeling so much better but I’m not done. More next time! I’m off to enjoy the sunshine we are having today. Bye-Bye

The Pony Express

Yeap, that pony sure has been galloping by the house lately.  Here are just a few of the goodies he has delivered. The Club Little House package, Full of handmade mini’s for us big kids. Perfect timing as we are setting up house. Amy was kind enough to add a little lunch and a lemon pie for our tenants, they we most gracious for the kind vittles as moving into there new home sure has been a lot of work.

This is the little welcome mat that I made for Club Little House. The slippers can easily be removed by clipping the one thread that is holding them on, in case you like keeping your slippers near the bedroom.

These Lovely buttons from Mommycoddle came a week or so ago. They were originally suppose to be a gift for my mom, but after receiving them…Well, I don’t know.. they are to cute. I may have to place another order for my mom. Sorry Mom.
And these cute fabric swatches are a gift from Carrie. I’m thinking maybe a pillow using the stripes or how about part of that quilt I’m always think of?

Doll House Furniture

Well, the last few weeks have been all about minis. I started out making 12 tiny seasonal packages. I won’t tell you the detail in case Little Club House does another round and I’m able to participate again. Lets just say it’s hard trying to decorate for cool weather when its really hot outside. I had another idea that I was making for myself when I ended up making 12 of them. So I had to start all over. Each are slightly different and have a very casual shabby look about them. Part of it was inspired from the idea that every home should have one and the other part was inspired from something I had seen in a ZAkka book.  I also ran out of the cream colored felt I was using and was unable to make it to the fabric store that carries nice felt. I tried other color combos I had but never was satisfied. I ended up getting some felt that was better than the 20 cent squares you see in the stores but it still wasn’t the best quality and it was a little harder to cut and sew. I wish I had started the last 12 packages earlier so I could have taken more time on them.

This is some of my old doll house furniture. We have been trying to fix up, a little at a time. Painting it white, as well as bright cheerful colors. Glueing the ones that need and can be fixed. Do you reminder the gross trading card, garbage pail kids? Well, that is where the little grey plastic trash can came from. It once had garabe pail kids candy inside. The piano winds up in the back and when you open the 2 doors it plays music.
I also was excited to score this little chair on ebay for a little over a dollar. I plan on making a “little” chair cushion for it soon.

And I finally have my Etsy account straighten out. I had set up an account under La Belle Avenue a few months back. Well, when I tried to get into it I couldn’t. After several email between me and Etsy we finally got it fixed. Thank you Emily. So now I hope to be able to put some handmades items in it.

Thrift shop items and handmade pillow

Saturdays trip to the Thrift store turned out pretty good when I walked away with the floor fan and *Boy are they heavy! My daughter on the other hand could not believe I would even want such a thing. It reminds me of one we had when I was growing up and I think it matches great with the cheerful colors in this lovely sheet I also found.  All though, the picture is pretty poor and I should be ashamed to post such a wrinkled picture.

Then it reminded me of an old Avon drawer liner roll I found at the thrift store a few weeks ago. I’ve been thinking of projects I could do with it ~ covered boxes, collages, tags, envelopes??? Any ideas?

Then a quick trip over to my sister-in-laws ended with a new addition to the family. Meet Gracey.

Who after some begging made the trip with us, up to see my family. My mom had found this miniature quilled flower kit.  I’ve not had a chance to look at it much but it sounds interesting.  Maybe some window boxes like these or just a vase for the table?

Before we left I was able to sneek in enough time to sew up this pillow slip cover. After I had dug out all the fabrics I wanted to use and I had the pillow ready. I could not find a tape measure, not one! We won’t name any kids, I mean people, but please return them. Thank You.

Any how, I went ahead and cut and sewed. You know how it is when you get an idea in your head and you just have to do it. Well, it was one of those times. I’m please with it and I think it looks like it belongs on my couch. It was also quite enjoyable to do without measurement and rules. Just eye ball it and go. Not to say that it will work out so well with the next project which I am told will be a horse, named Buddy??
